Jack and Sharon Osbourne, members of America's first reality TV family, were honored on Friday in Los Angeles for their bravery in overcoming his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
The Race 2 Erase MS, a fundraiser now in it's 20th year, awarded mother and son their Medal of Hope for increasing the visibility of the disease through platforms like Osbourne's CBS chat show "The Talk."
"He is the bravest boy, man, father, person, I know," sister Kelly Osbourne said introducing him.
In June of 2012, Jack was diagnosed just two weeks after the birth of his daughter Pearl. But Saturday, in the grand ballroom of the Hyatt Century Plaza, he was all smiles.
"I feel like this is the bar mitzvah I never had," he joked onstage before a crowd celebs, donors and medical pros.
"I think there's a reason why people get certain things in life and why you're given certain hurdles to get over," Sharon said when it was her turn at the podium.
"I think it's made my son realize how blessed he is. He has amazing friends, he has an amazing family and it makes you appreciate what you've got in life," she added.
While his father Ozzy did not attend, longtime family friends like Elton John and David Furnish showed, as did rocker Rod Stewart.
Before Elton would perform, in addition to artist Taio Cruz, he engaged in some healthy competition during the evening's live auction: going head-to-head with Rod over a souped-up silver Aston Martin.
The two men battled across a table, that also included Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, both eventually losing out on the sports car to a male bidder (who dropped 230k in support of the cause).
Additional names at the bash included Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kim and Kyle Richards, Marg Helgenberger, Shemar Moore, Lisa Rinna and country singer Kellie Pickler.
