Unlike some celebrity offspring, Ivanka Trump works – hard. While the public mostly sees her in her best boardroom chic alongside her father, Donald, on "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice," she typically averages 16-hour days overseeing development and acquisitions for his real estate company, and also has her eponymous fashion and lifestyle brand.

However, just because she appears to juggle work and family effortlessly – judging by her picture-perfect Instagram stream, at least – it doesn't mean it always is. The 31-year-old, who has a 20-month-old daughter with her publisher husband Jared Kushner, says she suffers from mom guilt over her busy work schedule daily.

"Oh, every morning I'm so sad to leave Arabella," she said in the May issue of Redbook. "But it's important for me to continue what I’m doing. It's fulfilling to me, and I think it makes me a better mom when I'm home."

And she takes issue with the term "working mom."

"I hate the expression," she tells the magazine. "Because when I'm with Arabella on the weekends, I'm much more exhausted on Monday morning than I am on Friday night [laughs]! I think the expression 'working' versus 'non-working' implies that a mother who stays home doesn't work. It's far more difficult than anything I do in the office."

As for what her father is like as a grandfather, Ivanka says the notoriously tough businessman is hands-on – with limitations.

"Oh, he takes her all the time – but with me. He wouldn't know what to do if she was crying or needed a diaper change. Although I think he'd figure it out," Ivanka said of Donald, who has five children from his three marriages, the youngest being 7-year-old Barron. "He was always a great father in that he was always there. Now that my brothers and I work with him, we've become even closer. If we talked a lot before, we speak 50 times a day now. I spend half the time in his office. It's wild."

The Most Iconic Moments in Office Fashion

While Ivanka has a large presence on social media, often sharing photos of herself with her family (in the last week she's taken Arabella to the San Diego Zoo and Legoland), she's still establishing boundaries.

"Many people who come from obscurity and shoot into the limelight, they don't really know what they're getting into, whereas I did," she said. "I went in with my eyes wide open. I don't let people into things that are too private. People ask all the time, 'Oh, can we take photographs of you and your closet?' No. That feels voyeuristic in a way that I don't feel comfortable with. I'm very active on social media, but you don't see me tweet a photo of Jared and me lying in bed on Sunday morning. I don't want to see other people lying in bed on a Sunday morning; why would someone want to see me?"
