The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is turning the big 5-0 and, in honor of the milestone, a new coffee table book is hitting store shelves featuring — what else?! — gorgeous women in barely-there bathing suits.

Omg! has an exclusive look inside Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful at some of the famous models — including Heidi Klum, Brooklyn Decker, Elle Macpherson, Kathy Ireland, and Cheryl Tiegs — off the clock, in candid shots and outtakes, during their iconic shoots for the magazine.

The fresh-faced "Project Runway" star, 40, looks especially relaxed, hiding under a floppy red beach hat and sporting a necklace with her name in a 1998 snapshot from her shoot in the Maldives (above). And Macpherson, who turns 50 next year, lives up to her nickname "The Body" as she fills out a striped one-piece while floating in a tube during a 1987 shoot in the Dominican Republic.

Another photo spread shows some of the models on the move, including a black bikini-clad Rebecca Romijn, 40, cruising (on top of a jeep!) in the British Virgin Islands in 1999. Bombshell May Andersen is also seen showing her flexibility — and love for yellow! — as she drapes her body over a Jet Ski in a shoot in Arizona in 2004.

Some other eye-catching pictorials include filmstrip outtakes from a shoot with two-time cover model Kate Upton. The blonde is photographed putting on a shirt to cover up her blue string bikini, but — to the enjoyment of her fans — she doesn't quite get there.

Kate Upton (second from right) has become a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue staple.

Tyra Banks was the first African-American model to land the cover of the magazine in 1997 and the book pays tribute to her. The 39-year-old went on to build an empire, including her popular reality series, "America's Next Top Model," which was recently picked up for its 21st cycle.

"SI was the portal for me to reach everyday people, to reach people like my family, the working class," the sand-covered glamazon, who sports a purple bikini and bangs, said in an interview for the book.

Anne V was a walking portrait in 2013 when the 27-year-old Russian model posed with nothing but strategically applied bodypaint, a magazine staple since 1999, inspired by Macpherson's 1986 "Paradise Found" cover.

Klum was also painted. A vintage-looking spread shows her upside down with her blond locks curled and lips a bold red shade. Her swimsuit, which looks more like blue lacy lingerie than swimwear, was also brushed on.

"It's such a trip. Each time I'd open my eyes after a brief rest, Joanne [Gair] would be further along with her work. It was as if a swimsuit were miraculously growing on my skin," Klum said of the experience.
