Gwyneth Paltrow was named the Best Dressed Woman in the World in 2012 by People magazine, but that shouldn't suggest she's got a perfect track record.

In her lifestyle newsletter Goop, Paltrow pointed to some previous sartorial moments that she now says she would have certainly improved upon, both of which stemmed from the Academy Awards.

"I started being photographed in the ['90s] so of course there are a few glaring ones," she wrote of her fashion offenses in her weekly dispatch, which focused on collections she loves at the moment. "Two that come to mind are looks I wore to the Oscars in 2000 and 2002."

A bold admission from the woman responsible for one of the most famous Oscar gowns ever, the pink Ralph Lauren she wore in 1999 when she took home the Best Actress statue for her lead role in "Shakespeare In Love."

So what are these big fashion missteps? Paltrow explains."The first is the Calvin Klein. It's an okay dress but not Oscars material. I chose it because I wanted to disappear that year," she said of the simple, silver sheath she wore to the Academy Awards in 2000. We'd have to agree – it's way too casual a length for an awards ceremony.

"The goth Alexander McQueen I wore a few years later. There were a few issues; I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup," she admitted. "Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to - a little bit of punk at the Oscars."

Correct again! Paltrow was universally panned for a look that translated as frumpy, far from its intended rebellious statement.

Gwyneth being Gwyneth, she also spoke about which of her red carpet looks were the most triumphant.

The white Tom Ford creation, complete with a cape, she wore to the 2012 Oscars ceremony made the cut. She also gave a shoutout to the gorgeous pale pink Prada gown (not too far off from Anne Hathaway's Prada last Sunday) she donned at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
