Evelyn Lozada Is Engaged — See the Ring!
Evelyn Lozada might want to start a spinoff show called "Baseball Wives."
That's because the star of VH1's "Basketball Wives," who exclusively first confirmed the identity of her future baby's daddy to "omg! Insider's" Nina Parker earlier this month, announced on Instagram that she's engaged to Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Carl Crawford.
"YES!" her post was simply captioned, showcasing the huge diamond ring on her finger:
That post was followed up by a second, captioned, "Thank u so much @jasonofbh for this BEAUTIFUL DESIGN!!!! #HappiestGirlInTheWorld"
The 14.5-carat diamond ring was custom made for her by Jason Arasheben from Jason's of Beverly Hills, according to People. "Carl has been a longtime client of mine and I knew immediately that he was really smitten and in love and wanted to make a statement that would light up the Christmas tree as well as the bride-to-be," Jason tells the mag. He adds that the MLB'er helped design the ring, looking at 10 to 15 stones before picking the perfect one and the mounting. Jason also designed Dwyane Wade's huge engagement ring for Gabrielle Union.
When Evelyn spoke with Nina earlier this month, she said she was rather indifferent about getting married again. "I definitely would get married again. I still believe in love … I'm not one of those people that's like 'We need to get engaged, we need to get married.' No, absolutely not," she said. "I feel like that's going to come, just like with the baby, let it come. I'm not forcing anything, so if it happens, it happens."
As for doing more reality TV, Evelyn says she hasn't ruled it out.
"You know, reality TV, even though there's a lot of negativity, it's been more positive for me," she told "omg! Insider." "I was able to do a lot of things because of the show, so I'm not one of those people that just bashes it when it's done ... I was able to put my daughter through college because of it, I've been very blessed because of it. So if I was given a spinoff, I think I would do it because you're more in control of the show, you're an executive producer. You really get to see everything that's going on. So, you know, if it made sense for me and my family, I probably would."
Evelyn was married briefly to NFL star Chad Johnson in 2012, but the relationship dissolved following a domestic violence charge. She has a college-aged daughter, Shaneice Hairston, from a previous relationship.
