Update: Charlie Sheen has released the following statement to omg!: "Charlie supports the actions of the Department of Children and Family Services. He knows Max and Bob are safe and in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys's sisters. Charlie will fully cooperate and fully participate in all proceedings."
It's Richards to the rescue, yet again!
Mom extraordinaire and Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Denise Richards, has assumed temporary custody of the 4-year-old twins Sheen has with another of his ex-wives, Brooke Mueller, omg! has confirmed.
Radar Online first reported the news that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services removed the twins, Bob and Max, from Mueller's care due to her alleged continuing drug use. It's reportedly the second time Richards has cared for Bob and Max, the first time being back in December 2012.
“Brooke was given many opportunities by social workers to clean up her act. Social workers felt that Bob and Max weren’t safe in Brooke’s care," a source tells Radar Online. "The decision was made late on Thursday afternoon, and the boys are no longer in Brooke’s care. It’s expected at some point the boys will be taken care of by Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Denise Richards, who has cared for them in the past when Brooke went to rehab."
Richards has two daughters with Sheen, Sam, 9, and Lola, 7, as well as a third daughter she adopted on her own in 2011, Eloise, almost 2.
E! News reports that social workers have been investigating the situation for over a year, often observing Mueller disappearing for long periods of time. "She hasn't lived in her house for a few weeks," an insider tells E!. "They don't know where she's at. It's been so bad."
According to E!, Sheen is happy with the situation. "The boys have spent so much time with Denise that it was the logical choice that she would get temporary custody," E!'s source continues. "Charlie is completely supportive of it and wants what's best for the boys. Charlie will probably have a better relationship with the boys now. Everyone is glad they'll have some stability."
And apparently, it's what Mueller wants as well. "Brooke is not upset ... She trusts Denise," E!'s source adds.
