Celebrities Remember Designer L'Wren Scott

The sudden death of designer L'Wren Scott, who's also the longtime girlfriend of Mick Jagger, has her many friends and fans in shock.

Scott was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on Monday. As previously reported, preliminary reports suggest the 49-year-old, who was a model before launching her successful brand, committed suicide. The official cause of death has yet to be determined by the New York City medical examiner.

"We confirm the tragic death of L'Wren Scott," her spokesperson said in a statement to "The Insider With Yahoo." "At this devastating time for Ms. Scott's family and friends, we request that their privacy be respected."

Scott, who canceled her scheduled London Fashion Week show on Feb. 16 following production delays, dressed celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker, and even first lady Michelle Obama, and many Hollywooders have spoken out about her passing.

"Nicole and L'Wren were close friends for 25 years," a spokesperson for Kidman told "The Insider With Yahoo. "Nicole is heartbroken and in shock right now and unable to say anything."

In a post on Vogue.com, Anna Wintour wrote, "I am deeply saddened by the loss of L’Wren Scott. L’Wren was a total perfectionist, someone who absolutely embodied everything her marvelous clothes stood for: strength of character combined with a confident and powerful style. In person, L’Wren was always unbelievably generous, gracious, kind, and so much fun. Her old world American manners and charm were from another time, but her sensibility was always fiercely modern. We will all miss her."
