How ‘Blindsided’ Britney Spears Is Coping With Her Breakup

When Britney Spears and Jason Trawick called off their engagement last week many were surprised, including apparently, the pop star herself.

According to a new report from Us Weekly, Spears, 31, never saw it coming.

"He had been planning to break up with her for months," one insider says of Trawick, 41. Another claims: "Everyone knew Jason was leaving her but Britney. She's in la-la land."

Could this trigger another breakdown similar to Spears' infamous one in 2008?

“She has her ups and downs,” a family friend tells People.

Spears reportedly wanted to start a family, but Trawick wasn’t quite ready. "There were so many issues [Jason] wanted worked out before that," a source tells the magazine, adding that Spears was needy. "It was difficult for Jason to have his own life. Britney is very insecure and has had a lot of trouble with jealousy. These insecurities may be heightened now.”

The family source admits that those close to her "are concerned about her future."

Drama aside, Trawick will still be “be involved” in the lives of Spears’ two sons Preston, 7, and Jayden, 6. "Jason adores [Britney's] kids; he loves them. He was like their 'other dad,' so he's not just going to walk away from their lives. He'll be involved as much as makes sense."

Meanwhile, Spears seems to be focused on work. She reportedly is in negotiations for a Las Vegas headlining gig, perhaps with Caesars Entertainment, possibly upwards of 100 million dollars.
