Billy Ray Cyrus is getting a makeover — well, one of his hit songs is, anyway! Buck 22 just released his video for "Achy Breaky 2," featuring Billy Ray, and the catchy tune puts an odd rap twist on the 1992 hit country song, "Achy Breaky Heart."
In the video, Billy Ray teams up with the rapper, who is the son of the legendary R&B singer Dionne Warwick, and the unlikely twosome are beamed into a spaceship to join a celestial bash. The party is filled with scantily clad women who dance around as Billy Ray and Buck 22 remix the classic country song.
This remix is a far cry from the original video, which featured Billy Ray, his killer mullet, and some mild-mannered line dancing.
Maybe the 52-year-old is getting some inspiration from his daughter Miley who has made her fair share of cameos in rap videos like Mike Will Made It's hit "23" and Snoop Lion's "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks."
So how did the collaboration come about? Buck 22 told Complex Music that he and Billy Ray worked on Dionne's 50th anniversary album together, and the rest is history. He revealed, "I took a chance and asked if he would mind if I could take a crack at remaking 'Achy Breaky Heart' and he looked at me for a moment, and said 'lots of people have tried already, but go for it' — he didn't have a clue that I had already gone into the lab and cooked up a demo of what I thought would be a fun EDM/Hip-Hop styled version, which at the time only had a sample from the original of his voice."
