There's a shero... if you look inside your heart. No? Not quite? Well, Mattel may not be rewriting Mariah Carey's lyrics (nor should the brand do so; it's a classic power ballad), but the toy company is metaphorically rewriting the script with their Sheroes series at the Variety Power of Women Luncheon and in conjunction with National Shero Day, which will be celebrated on Monday, April 27. To be clear, a "shero" is just what you think it is — a lady hero — because heroism knows no gender.

According to a press release featured on Business Wire, Mattel's very own Barbie has produced six "Shero" Barbies, honoring women for their accomplishments.

The women include Shameless actress Emmy Rossum, Selma director Ava DuVernay, Broadway sprite Kristin Chenoweth, country star Trisha Yearwood, Lucky editor-in-chief Eva Chen, and five-year-old fashion designer Sydney "Mayhem" Keiser. All of these women have achieved substantial success in their respective fields.

The purpose of this campaign is to empower young girls to continue achieving anything they want, while also honoring and celebrating women who have surpassed expectations on their own volition.

"Barbie has always represented that girls have choices, and this Spring we are proud to honor six Sheroes who through their trade and philanthropic efforts are an inspiration to girls," said Barbie's General Manager Evelyn Mazzocco in the press release. "Started by a female entrepreneur and mother, this brand has a responsibility to continue to honor and encourage powerful female role models who are leaving a legacy for the next generation of glass ceiling breakers."

Rossum — a YouthAIDS ambassador, the official spokesperson for breast cancer awareness campaign "PiNKiTUDE," a supporter of The Best Friends Animal Society, and activist in environmental issues and gay rights — even took to Instagram to show off her very own mini-me (and c'mon, how cool is it to get your own personal Barbie?!).

"So excited to be honored by @variety today," she wrote. "And #Mattel made me my very own Emmy Barbie. #Shero #BeSuper #pinchme."

She — and the other ladies — are sheroes, indeed, but Mattel and Barbie know sheroes are not strictly limited to famous people (although being famous probably helps you sweep up a personalized Barbie). The brand is encouraging girls to share who their personal "sheroes" are on social media.

So, maybe for now we will switch the lyrics in Mariah Carey's classic jam. 'Cause who knows? A shero may lie in you...
