Anne Hathaway No Longer Has Time for Hathahaters
Anne Hathaway has taken home an Oscar, but she would probably have a tough time winning a popularity contest. For whatever reason, for some people, the star inspires what's been termed as "Hathahate."
Last October, New York magazine did a study titled "The 48 Stars That People Like Less Than Anne Hathaway" inspired by the apparent negative perception of the actress. They proved that although a vocal minority believe that Hathaway tries too hard and has been overexposed, she's no Tom Cruise.

Regardless, the 32-year-old Hathaway has moved past the negative people hiding behind their computer screens, leaving mean comments about her.
"For a very long time I felt I was being hunted, and it made me very unhappy," she told InStyle. "But in the past few years I've been working on changing the script inside my head. Life's too short to be anyone but yourself. Let the chips fall where they may."
Hathaway, who stars alongside Robert De Niro in the upcoming Nancy Meyers comedy The Intern, explained that she didn't always have such a healthy outlook.
"There was a stretch of my life when I wasn't comfortable being myself," she confessed. "I didn't think I was good enough. So I pretended to be someone I wasn't. To be a person in the spotlight, I pretended to be someone who could be in the spotlight."
But, she continued, "I'm so over that now. I just try to be my best self all the time, with some notable late-night lapses."

She noted that she could relate to her character, a CEO with no personal life who gives De Niro's character a job as her intern. So much so that she had some thoughts for the script.
"I felt strongly that my character should cry at work. I cry all the time," she said. "Granted, I'm an actress, so I kind of get a pass, but what's the big deal if you cry and then get yourself together and move on?"
Gotta love her honesty.
