  • Taraji P. Henson Apologizes to Police After Claiming Son Was Racially Profiled

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 12 hrs ago

Taraji P. Henson has apologized to the Glendale Police Department in California for alleging that they racially profiled her son, Marcel, during a traffic stop.

"I would like to publicly apologize to the officer and the Glendale Police Department. A mother's job is not easy and neither is a police officer's. Sometimes as humans we overreact without gathering all the facts," the Empire star, 44, wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. "As a mother in this case, I overreacted and for that I apologize. Thank you to that officer for being kind to my son."

She hashtagged the message #TurningANegativeIntoAPositive #LoveTarajiPHenson.

However, the Los Angeles Timesobtained footage from the Oct. 18 stop in Glendale that tells a very different story. The police officer was seen driving in traffic when Marcel, 20, drove through a lighted crosswalk, failing to yield to a pedestrian. As the publication notes, his race was not apparent in the video as he was driving.

  • Justin Bieber's Comedy Central Roast: Bad Career Move or Game-Changer?

Joal Ryan at Yahoo Celebrity 15 hrs ago

Can being the butt of two hours' worth of tasteless jokes really turn things around career-wise for the Grammy-nominated pop star turned fifth-most hated man in the United States ?

"Was the roast good for Justin Bieber is a tricky one to answer," Stephanie Abrams, co-founder of the New York City-based marketing and public-relations company Socialfly told Yahoo via email.

The Comedy Central roast, a semi-annual staple on the network for more than a decade, has been a self-flagellating stop for the mature, fire-tested celebrity: Joan Rivers, William Shatner, David Hasselhoff, and Donald Trump, among others have taken part. It's also attracted an Oscar-nominated A-lister (James Franco), and a one-man trending topic (Charlie Sheen). All have survived with their careers intact, and, in the case of Sheen, who got a sitcom order (for Anger Management ) from the resulting attention, enhanced.

The roast has been portrayed as a turning point, as the latest leg in Bieber's 2015 apology tour and image makeover. And it just might be that. Or not.

    We shall see.

  • Kylie Jenner Says Lip Liner Changed Her Life

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 16 hrs ago

In a hard-hitting interview with Grazia U.K.,  the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed how her liner and contouring "definitely changed my life."

"I always have, like, every color lip liner [in my bag]," the 17 going on 25-year-old said. (How is she only 17?!)

Even though Kim Kardashian's half-sister likes to rock designer clothes — and a multi-thousand dollar drama-filled watch — Kylie goes to the drugstore for one beauty product.

"I love CVS," she confessed. "I get all my lashes from there."

"We definitely have great lashes in the family [naturally]," she continued, "but lately I've been obsessed with strip lashes... All I do is wear fake lashes! I love them."

Though you might think she'd turn to Kim for beauty advice, she actually looks to Khloé for tips.

"She always [told] me growing up to put sunscreen on my hands and face," Kylie said. "And [to] always wash my face before I go to sleep."

  • Once and for All, Fred Durst Is Not Robert Durst!

Mallory Schlossberg at Yahoo Celebrity 18 hrs ago

Having trouble keeping your Dursts straight? Are you confounded daily, begging for clarification — which one, again, is the Limp Bizkit singer-shouter who did it all for the nookie (the what?), and which one is the murderer and subject of HBO's The Jinx ? Allow Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit fame to clear things up for you, via this Instagram post:

"I am NOT ROBERT," he wrote. All caps means he's serious.

The confusion surrounding the two Dursts began when the Associated Press mixed up The Jinx 's subject, Robert Durst, with Fred Durst. The wiring service ultimatelycorrected the error. " In the second item of the California 10th NewsMinute sent March 16 to users of the state broadcast wire, The Associated Press reported erroneously that Robert Durst is a member of a band," wrote the wiring service. "He is a real estate heir; Fred Durst is a member of the band Limp Bizk it."

  • Shots Fired: The Anti-Defamation League Calls Lena Dunham 'Tasteless'

Robert Kessler at Yahoo Celebrity 19 hrs ago

The Anti-Defamation League is not pleased with Lena Dunham, calling her both "tasteless" and "troubling" after The New Yorker published an essay written by her called "Dog or Jewish Boyfriend? A Quiz."

"Humor is a matter of taste, and people can disagree if it is funny or not," the ADL's National Director Abraham H. Foxman said in a statement. "Some will certainly find offensive Lena Dunham’s stereotypes about cheap Jews offensive. Others will take issue with the very idea of comparing a dog and a Jewish boyfriend."

Dunham is, herself, Jewish. Or at least half Jewish, on her mother's side. (According to the rules of the religion, Judaism is passed down maternally.) Dunham was even the speaker at last year's Jewish Museum Purim Ball. Her mother, the artist Laurie Simmons, currently has an exhibit showing at the Jewish Museum.

Dunham has not responded publicly to the ADL's outrage.

For its part, the ADL allows that Dunham probably did not write the piece with any ill-will.

  • Jessica Alba, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and Cash Warren Are Your New Favorite Celebrity Spring Breakers

Robert Kessler at Yahoo Celebrity 19 hrs ago

The Alba-Warrens and Teigen-Legends are currently on vacation together in St. Barts. The Benetton ad of celebrity double dates look like they're having a blast, because why wouldn't they be?

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren also brought their two children, Honor and Haven, who are out of school on spring break, along for the trip. Imagine the first day back at whatever school we presume all children of Hollywood go to together: The "what did you do on break" stories must be phenomenal. But anyway, back to reality.

Alba instagrammed a shot of Honor, 6, and Haven, 3, hanging in a pretty baller infinity pool.

On Thursday, the couples lounged in the water and enjoyed some casual brewskies and just looked like they were having a generally phenomenal time in paradise.

Side note: did you know that John Legend has been hiding a pretty great butt on that piano bench all these years?

Maybe they'll send us a postcard. Sigh.

  • Together Again? Jennifer Lopez Caught Kissing Casper Smart

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 19 hrs ago

At the premiere of Lopez's movie Home (Casper worked as the official choreographer), Smart told E! he and J.Lo were just pals.

"We got a lot of ties. We're very close," Smart said about still spending time with his ex. "We're friends. We're very good friends."

    Very good friends indeed.

The couple split back in May 2014, with sources saying at the time that the relationship "ran its course." There also were reports that Casper had been sending racy Instagram photos to someone else.

"I had to make a commitment to myself to be alone: No flirting. No possibility of anything. No boys in any way, shape or form. I said, 'I'm shutting it down,'" Lopez recently told Peopleof her mindset post-split. "I'd never been alone… I always found my comfort in another person."

  • Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise Spend Adorable #Girltime Together

Mallory Schlossberg at Yahoo Celebrity 21 hrs ago

How about this for a mini-me? Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise, who celebrates her ninth birthday next month, spent some quality mother-daughter time together on Thursday. Holmes posted the adorable evidence on Instagram: a photo of the two of them putting on make-up. So cute!

Katie captioned the pic, "#girltime," and we all know how important that time really is. Mom just has to watch out if the two of them ever venture into a Sephora! (And given Suri's apparent interest in makeup, it's likely that they might.) Suri should be warned at an early age: a Sephora addiction can be a very real thing.

Of course, dolling up isn't the only way Katie and Suri spend time together. In addition to traveling, shopping, and indulging in sweet treats, the pair also knows how to get down and dirty. Katie posted this "Saturday night!" pic of them painting back in January.

  • Drea de Matteo's Apartment Destroyed in East Village Explosion

Robert Kessler at Yahoo Celebrity 22 hrs ago

Sopranos actress Drea de Matteo is among those who lost their homes Thursday after a massive fire destroyed three buildings in New York's East Village.

"NYC's finest trying to put out the flames to mine [and] many others' apartments," de Matteo captioned a photo of the blaze on Instagram. "Speechless."

The fire began in a sushi restaurant downstairs after construction workers supposedly hit a gas line. While no one has been confirmed to have died in the blast and subsequent fire, two people remain missing this morning according to the New York Times. (ABC 7 has surveillance video of the moment of the explosion.)

De Matteo also uploaded a shot of the void where her apartment building once stood at Second Avenue and East Seventh Street. "A hole where my NYC home of the last 22 years once stood," she wrote.
