  • Jim Bob Duggar Once Said Incest Should Be a Capital Crime

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 21 hrs ago

Nearly a week after 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar admitted to molesting five girls 12 years ago — some of whom were his sisters — old comments are coming back to haunt the famous family.

Gawker found an old quote from patriarch Jim Bob Duggar in which he stated, "R ape and incest represent heinous crimes and as such, should be treated as capital crimes. " He said this during his 2002 campaign for U.S. Senate, the same year he became aware of Josh's behavior.

Jim Bob and Michelle, who did not immediately go to the police when they found out about Josh's incidents years ago, released a statement in support of their 27-year-old son just last week.

The network issued the following statement on Friday: "Effective immediately, TLC has pulled all episodes of 19 Kids and Counting currently from the air.  We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time."

TLC wouldn't comment on Thursday after a police report surfaced of Duggar's past indiscretions, but instead ran a marathon of the show, which prominently featured Josh. Naturally, that sparked outrage from viewers and non-viewers alike.

According to TMZ, the fate of the show is "uncertain" and sources involved say no long-term decision has been made. However, cameras have been rolling this week. One day before Josh's past was uncovered, he tweeted out a picture while filming.

The awareness campaign, which started in Britain in 1988 to raise money for poverty-stricken children in the U.K. and Africa, arrived in the U.S. today with the same important purpose. Dozens of stars joined forces with NBC and participated in a three-hour telecast Thursday night in an effort to raise funds for children living in poverty here at home and abroad.

The show featured segments that told moving stories of children in need, as well as funny skits starring some of Hollywood's biggest celebs letting loose for a good cause.

In the words of host Seth Meyers, "We make you laugh, then we make you cry, then we make you open your wallet."

Here are three of our favorite bits:

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 5 days ago

Flavor Flav was arrested in Las Vegas early Thursday morning for… well, a lot of things.

Nevada Highway Patrol public information officer Chelsea Stuenkel told The Insider With Yahoo that they pulled the 56-year-old entertainer over in his 2005 black BMW over for going 73 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was arrested on six charges.

The misdemeanors are suspicion of driving under the influence, speeding, possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, having an open container of alcohol, false registration, and driving with a suspended license. The total bail for Flav — whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr. — was $7,000.

This isn't the first time the rapper and television personality has had a run-in with cops on the road.

Last year, the Public Enemy hype man was pulled over for speeding on his way to his mother's funeral in New York. When police ran his license, they found out it had been suspended 16 times.

An attorney for Flavor Flav said she would get back with a comment when the AP informed her of her client's arrest.

  • Josh Duggar Responds to Child Molestation Allegations

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 5 days ago

A stunning and very alarming report has emerged involving the Duggar family.

According to a recently uncovered police report, Josh Duggar, one of the many stars of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting , allegedly molested five girls — some of whom, were reportedly his sisters — starting in 2002. He was around 14 at the time.

Josh, 27, issued a statement to People in response to the allegations: "Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life."

Josh has resigned as Executive Director of the Family Research Council.

So what triggered this investigation in 2006 if the Duggars never came forward? Oprah, actually.

  • Beyoncé Pours Out Pricey Bottle of Champagne Into a Hot Tub and Twitter Reacts

Taryn Ryder at Yahoo Celebrity 7 days ago

Queen Bey and Nicki Minaj dropped their "Feeling Myself" music video on Monday  — on Tidal, of course — and one particular scene definitely got a reaction (possibly an overraction) out of viewers. Jay Z's better half can be seen pouring out a shiny bottle of Armand de Brignac — aka Ace of Spades — into a hot tub, which rubbed quite a few folks the wrong way.

Why? Because it's a big old waste of money. The bottle of bubbly ranges in price, sometimes upwards into the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, although it's unclear just how much this particular one costs.

Beyoncé pour $20K Champagne into a tub like it's nothing. She should give me a bottle so I can return it and pay for my tuition.

So seeing Beyoncé pour out a $20000 bottle into a pool is a slap in the face to me

Beyoncé over here pour 20,000 dollar Champagne in a hot tube while California ain't got even a years worth of water.

Two children later and they're still going strong.

Alba, 34, met Cash while filming Fantastic Four . The couple's low-key nuptials took place in the ceremony room at the Beverly Hills courthouse. They applied for a marriage license and waited about 40 minutes for the paperwork to be processed before a staff member officially married them. No one else attended the wedding, according to People.
