James Maslow shows heart on the dance floor — and off.
The "Dancing With the Stars" contestant nabbed the season's first perfect score Monday for his contemporary dance performance with Peta Murgatroyd to "Frozen" hit "Let It Go." However, what he's been up to behind the scenes deserves even more cheers.
The Big Time Rush singer received a video invitation to attend a prom — aka a "prom-posal" — with special needs high school student Hannah Wackernagle of Grove City, Ohio. While he was unable to attend the event at her school because of his "DWTS" schedule, he gave the 18-year-old, who has Down syndrome, much more than one special night.

Miley Cyrus is a true dog lover, but she's not ready to open her heart to a new pet after losing her beloved pooch Floyd.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer has been heartbroken since her Alaskan Klee Kai's sudden death, reportedly after a coyote attack, on April 1 and her mom, Tish, tried to fill the void by getting her a new furry friend, Moonie, just days later. And while the dog brought a smile to the 21-year-old's face, she's decided to give him away — a decision that, while debated, gets a thumbs up from a pet expert.
Cyrus, who's on the road for her Bangerz Tour, posted this message on Sunday, publicly saying goodbye to Moonie:

Beyoncé isn't the only Mrs. Carter in town.
Nick Carter married his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Kitt, on Saturday in Santa Barbara, California. The 34-year-old singer is the last member of the Backstreet Boys, which formed in 1993, to take the matrimonial plunge.
Nick and Lauren, 30, weren't secretive about their nuptials, which took place under a stunning altar adorned with white and purple blooms. The couple has been tweeting about the big day for weeks with the fitness expert, who competes in bikini contests, even creating a hashtag for the occasion: #NicknLowswedding. They also posted an Instagram photo of themselves affixing a love lock on a bridge in Cologne, Germany.

Step one of "consciously uncoupling"? Go on a breakup-moon with your soon-to-be ex-wife. Step two? Remove your wedding ring.
On Thursday, Chris Martin made his first public appearance since Gwyneth Paltrow's announcement that they're ending their 10-year marriage. The Coldplay rocker was in his element at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and opted to go without his wedding band.
Martin, who presented Peter Gabriel with his award, looked tan, rested, and, yes, happy on stage in black pants, a white T-shirt, and a black leather jacket. He was smiling and appeared happy as he told the crowd at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, "I couldn't be more thrilled to be here."

Lena Dunham has been a regular and passionate voice in the gay rights movement, which is a topic that hits close to home for the "Girls" star.
The 27-year-old actress and writer was honored by the Point Foundation, a charity that, according to its website, "empowers LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential." During her speech — which was peppered with jokes, including how she that she was disappointed when she discovered she was straight — she opened up about her 22-year-old sister Grace, who is a lesbian, coming out.
"I have always felt a strong and emotional connection to members of the LGBTQ community," Dunham said at the gala, which was held at The New York Public Library on Monday and attended by guests including Mariska Hargitay and Judith Light. "It was actually a huge disappointment for me when I came of age and realized that I was sexually attracted to men. So when my sister came out I thought, 'Thank God, someone in this family can truly represent my beliefs and passions.'"

Katherine Heigl is shopping mad.
The "Grey's Anatomy" alum is suing pharmacy chain Duane Reade for upwards of $6 million for posting a paparazzi photo of her leaving one of its Manhattan stores on the business's Twitter and Facebook pages earlier this year.
In court papers filed on Wednesday and obtained by "The Insider With Yahoo," Heigl's legal team argues that the company "misused and misappropriated the photograph," which was taken from the website Just Jared and posted to Twitter on March 18, "for its own commercial advertising, distributing the photo with Duane Reade's own promotional slogans … without Ms. Heigl's knowledge or approval." The retailer then "ignored a written demand that it stop this unlawful activity," which Heigl's lawyers say was sent on March 19, "and brazenly continues to exploit Ms. Heigl's image for commercial gain, despite her strenuous objection."
Amanda Bynes is looking happy and healthy, as those vacation photos show. But she's a little tired… of some lingering rumors.
Through her lawyer, the 28-year-old — who was involuntarily hospitalized last July after setting a small fire in a stranger's driveway — is shooting down a report that she's suffering from schizophrenia.
"There has been much speculation about Amanda's medical condition," her attorney Tamar Arminak tells Yahoo. "She has remained silent because she believed it was best to keep her mental health diagnosis private. However, she asked me to dispel certain rumors."
Arminak goes on to say, "Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it." And the "Hairspray" actress "is currently is on zero medication. She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she's been marijuana-free for the past nine months."
The good news? Jill Duggar is engaged. The bad? She's going to have a heck of a time selecting her maid of honor.
The 22-year-old, who appears with her supersized family on the TLC's reality show "19 Kids & Counting," will be marrying Derick Dillard, Yahoo has confirmed. Jill, who is studying to be a midwife and recently authored a book about her conservative family's view on relationships, announced in late March that she was in a courtship with the Arkansas accountant, 25. Now, comes the news that the duo — who were brought together by Jill's dad, Jim Bob, who met Derick two years ago while doing humanitarian work in Nepal — will tie the knot within the next few months.
Mickey Rooney's personal life was drama-filled – and his passing is more of the same.
A petition for probate, including the actor's will, was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday and obtained by "The Insider With Yahoo." The documents state there has been a dispute over where Rooney, who died Sunday at the age of 93, will be buried. An agreement was reached that the late star's body would not be moved — by his wife, Jan, and her son Christopher Aber, or Rooney's appointed conservator, attorney Michael R. Augustine — from a mortuary until a court hearing Friday.
As for Rooney's estate, it's modest, despite having worked much of his life. Here's what we learned from his will…
1. He put his legal affairs in order just prior to his death. Rooney's will was signed on March 11 — less than a month before he died due to natural causes, including complications related to diabetes.

The "Blue Jasmine" actor and his wife filed a joint petition stating that they don't have separate assets worth over $40,000 or debt exceeding $6,000. They also signed away the right for spousal support.
While it sounds like a routine divorce filing on paper, Clay and his soon-to-be ex are still spending time together. The 56-year-old told People magazine "the word 'marriage' was putting pressure" on their relationship. Since they filed for divorce, they are "more in love … than ever before," and celebrated their divorce with a dinner date at Craig's in West Hollywood.
