Viola Davis is no stranger to success with two Oscar nominations under her belt, but the road there was paved with hunger. In the new issue of Peoplemagazine, the actress opens up about her childhood, and what she says might surprise you. "I was one of those kids who grew up hungry," she revealed. "I'm 48 years old now, and it's only been recently that I can admit that I would jump in trash bins looking for food and I would steal from the corner store because I was hungry," Viola added, "I would fall asleep in school on a daily basis because we had nothing." The "Ender's Game" star grew up in Central Falls, R.I., and admitted that she never had friends come over because her home was condemned and infested with rats. But with the help of food programs, Viola overcame those obstacles, studied at the Juilliard School in New York City, and has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the business. And she's giving back. The star is partnering with the Safeway Foundation and the Entertainment Industry Foundation to lead a campaign for Hunger Is, which raises awareness and money for childhood hunger. "I am the first generation of my family to go to college. Those programs made all the difference for me," Viola told People. "It's been cathartic for me because I always had a lot of shame with going in the garbage dumps that had maggots in it, too. It has brought healing in my life to be able to talk about it." Neil Patrick Harris made headlines over the weekend when he cursed at a fan in the audience during his Broadway performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," but now the 40-year-old is setting the record straight. NPH had some bad words for a female theatergoer who yelled out mid-performance, "I love you, Neil." Reports claimed that the star shot back, "I'm doing something up here, mother------."
But the "How I Met Your Mother" star took to Twitter to address the reports that took the response out of context. "It seems my Hedwig improvs are making news, but one should have the full story/context," he wrote.
As it turns out, the musical, about a transgender German punk rocker, is highly improvisational and actually embraces audience interaction. A rep for the actor told Gossip Cop, "The response to the fan yelling was actually done in character — Neil as Hedwig, not as though Neil stopped the show to respond out of character."

Few things say the '90s like the babydoll dress, and it's back and bigger than ever! Some of Hollywood's hottest stars have been spotted sporting the style. Lana Del Rey rocked out on stage at Coachella in a bright orange-and-pink babydoll dress, while Lea Michele wore one in pale pink at the Lacoste party. Chrissy Teigen posed on red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards in her Ulyana Sergeenko babydoll. Also revisiting the '90s fashion statement in 2014: Sienna Miller, Taylor Swift, and Jessica Alba!
"The Insider" correspondent Keltie Knight caught up with celebrity stylist Daniel Musto, who dished about why this trend is being styled in its revival mode. "In the '90s, it was seen in solid colors, super innocent on Courtney Love with some clunky Doc Martens," Daniel says. "But now you're seeing florals, plaids, and stripes with heels. And heels actually make it better, because it's all about the leg."

Late last year, Lady Gaga was announced as the new face of Versace's spring/summer 2014 campaign, and in the images, the "Do What U Want" singer looked absolutely flawless.
But now, images of the untouched ads have surfaced online, and while Mama Monster still looks beautiful, the before shots are completely different than the digitally altered snapshots. The leaked pics feature the singer wearing little to no makeup and, sporting bruises on her legs, and her hair (while still blond) is a much darker shade than it appears to be in the completed campaign.
But this isn't the only controversy Gaga's faced this week. Check out the video to hear about the drama, and be sure to tune into "The Insider" on TV tonight for the latest in entertainment news.

Kelly Osbourne credits her famous lavender locks for helping amp up her self-confidence. "Basically my color has become me," she told People magazine. "The first time I dyed it and looked in the mirror, I saw myself and I felt like me."
And we shouldn't expect Kelly to opt for a more natural look anytime soon. "I'll never be a natural girl," she explained. "I'll never be normal or simple. The most insulting thing someone said to me was to call me 'beige.'"
Kelly has rocked the lilac look for four years now and has proven to be quite the hair trailblazer, paving the way for stars like Nicole Richie and Ireland Baldwin who've recently given the purple 'do a whirl. And the TV personality is 100 percent supportive of others following in her footsteps.
"They don't get that I'm not that kind of girl that will sit there and be like, 'You have the same hair as me,'" she dished. "I don't own this color; it's just become a part of me."

"It's a love story," as the Taylor Swift hopped on a flight from New York to Columbus, Ohio, to surprise her superfan, Gena Gabrielle, at her bridal shower on Sunday. The 24-year-old singer had promised the bride-to-be, whom she first got to know at a meet-and-greet in 2007, that she would attend the party, because she isn't going to be able to attend her wedding in May.
But Gena was still surprised when the superstar actually walked through the doors. "I had no idea it was going to happen," Gena told "Today." "[Taylor] said she planned it with her management and her mom. She said it was all worth it because my face was 'priceless.'"
The "Speak Now" singer posed for pics with the lady of the hour and her guests and after arriving with a basket chockfull of kitchen goodies that included a KitchenAid stand mixer and Le Creuset pots. Taylor even added a personal touch with a hand-painted piece of art, a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies, and a handwritten recipe!
"I will never forget she did this for me," Gena told "Today." "She is truly an incredible, special person."

Vanessa Hudgens is soaring high in the sky! The 25-year-old is the latest celeb to try out the aerial workout trend, and she looks like a pro. The brunette beauty posted a video of her silk rope skills to Instagram on Tuesday with the caption "You spin me right round baby right round." But this wasn't her first time flying high. Vanessa isn't the only Hollywood star to embrace the aerial craze. Pink was one of the first celebs to master the workout. In 2010 the singer soared above the audience at the Grammy Awards during her performance of "Glitter in the Air," and in 2014 she wowed again, showing off her aerial skills while singing "Try" at the award show.

The latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings features one of Hollywood's biggest stars, but she isn't the girl all dressed in white. Jennifer Lawrence took a break from her bustling film schedule to serve as one of 11 bridesmaids at the wedding of her brother, Blaine Lawrence, to Carson Massler.
The ceremony took place back in October 2013 in J.Law's home state of Kentucky and while she donned an ivory, floor-length, strapless dress with a heart-shaped neckline from J.Crew, her sister-in-law stunned in a lace gown by Monique Lhuillier.
While the magazine has no mention of whether or not tripped going down the aisle, the day didn’t go off without a hitch. "It was crazy, epic, and very wet,” Carson explained of her special day. "It set a state record for the third-highest rainfall ever! … All the things you worry about on your big day happened to us. But that's what we loved about it: It was real."

"The Insider" correspondent Keltie Knight sat down with the 32-year-old at the film's junket, and he dished about getting in tip-top shape. “I'm very skinny naturally. It’s a really daunting task gearing back up, We start 'Avengers' in a month, so that's what I’ve been doing.”
