Victoria Beckham Impresses With New Dress Line

Victoria Beckham's super-short haircut stole the Marc Jacobs show earlier this week, but her pixie-like 'do wasn't the only thing that had fashion insiders buzzing. The former Spice Girl, who already has her own line of denim and sunglasses called dVB, unveiled her dress collection to buyers and editors at appointment-only meetings during New York Fashion Week. According to the Guardian, the often hard-to-please fashion press were impressed. So impressed that stores are already in an uproar over the rights to sell the limited 10-piece line under the label "Victoria Beckham," where only a total of 400 dresses will be made in the first season. The garments are supposed to be available in stores this February.

I perused WWD.com's photos of the collection and I'm actually surprised. The frocks definitely reflect Victoria's figure-hugging signature style, but they're actually elegant, flattering, and chic due to the use of high-end fabrics and hemlines that fall below the knee. Plus, you'll never be accused of showing too much cleavage while wearing one of these dresses. Details like sequined corsets and topstitched shoulder panels make Victoria's first dress collection lust-worthy. Can you tell I'm already in love? Unfortunately for me, a dress costs between $600 to $1400 wholesale, which means the retail price will be way more. I'll never be able to afford a Victoria Beckham dress, but a girl can dream … and drool.
