Michelle Obama Sparkles In Gold

Clad in gold, Michelle Obama sparkled among the sea of black and navy at Tuesday's presidential inauguration.

The new First Lady donned a dazzling dress and matching coat by Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo, a former creative director at Anne Klein.

The silhouette was one Michelle has favored in the past: a long sheath dress that accentuated her 5'10" frame.

She accessorized with green leather gloves from J.Crew and matching pumps. While I thought they looked distracting on television (thanks HD!), they actually complemented her outfit.

Daughters Malia and Sasha were also clad in the American retailer, which is one of the family's favorite brands. Talk about a presidential endorsement!

The J.Crew website even has a special note congratulating the First Family on today's historic event.

While Michelle Obama went for glitz and glamour, outgoing First Lady Laura Bush contrasted in a dove-grey suit, jacket, and slate pumps. Both women epitomized elegance.

We can't wait to see what Michelle dons to tonight's inaugural ball. Come back for more First Lady fashion analysis, or head over to head over to Shine! to see the expert's take.
