Kate and Ginnifer’s Baby Talk

You would think that the daughter of two movie stars -- and an A-list actress herself! -- plus a self-proclaimed "label whore" would have more glamorous things than babies and their bodies to discuss when they get together. But you'd be wrong. In the new issue of Marie Claire, "Something Borrowed" beauties Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin dish about their pregnancies (future pregnancies in Ginnifer's case) and maintaining their curves.

The pixie-haired Ginnifer, who recently ended her engagement with actor Joey Kern, doesn't have a baby bump of her own just yet; That honor belongs to Kate, whose expecting a bundle of joy with Muse's Matthew Bellamy. (She already has 7-year-old son Ryder, whom she shares with ex-hubby Chris Robinson.) Ginnifer's eager to join the mom club, though. "I'm so ready," the 32-year-old single gal gushes.

The always-sunny Kate, 32, warns her that whipping a post-baby body back into shape is tough. "It's an emotional roller coaster, having to lose weight," Kate says. "I gained so much -- I was 185 pounds at the end [of my first pregnancy]. You actually experience how much energy is stored in that and how much emotion you actually hold in that mass. It is emotional, no matter how determined you are. It takes work to bounce back so quickly."

Even without a little one on the way, Ginnifer confesses that she's experienced the ups and downs of weight gain. "I am genetically predisposed to be a bigger girl than I am," she admits. "If I didn't live in Hollywood, I would be. I have very real hips and a real Southern woman's ass." The former "Big Love" star keeps herself in check with Weight Watchers. "I've never had body issues, and I've never had an eating disorder," Ginnifer explains. "Most of the people I know are on the program for health reasons. And yes, some of them are slim women who want to stay slim."

While Kate's future always included babies, it didn't always include marriage. The "Almost Famous" actress points to the 30-year relationship of her unmarried parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. "We felt they were married -- they are married. They are husband and wife," she says. "It was never about signing a paper. But at the same time, I love the idea of ceremony and bringing everyone together: your families, your love. So I don't think I'd ever count it out. It's just not my primary focus." Even so, Kate and Bellamy announced their own engagement in late April!
