January Jones: ‘I Have Never Dieted’

January Jones is much different than the stylish housewife she plays on AMC's retro drama "Mad Men." The actress admits to Allure that of the three main female characters on the show -- including the determined Peggy and the sassy Joan -- her character, Betty, is the least "emotionally mature." And unlike Betty, January has no qualms about going after exactly what she wants. "I am not going to let myself be in an unhappy marriage," she asserts. "Or if I want a job, I am going to go get a job."

Clearly, January is an independent woman. Last month, the 33-year-old confessed that she will soon be a single mom. Although she's kept mum on who exactly the father is, many people initially assumed it was "Saturday Night Live's" Jason Sudeikis, with whom she broke up with earlier this year. (According to several sources, the baby daddy is most likely someone that she met on the set of "X-Men: First Class.")

Despite her current single status, Jones believes that romantic relationships are something that she has grown a lot more skilled at over the years. "The long distance kind of petered us out," she explains of her split from Sudeikis. "When you date someone else who's in the industry, someone has to make the sacrifices. And if no one's willing to, then you just have to be friends." Still, she admits that understanding her job if you're not in the business can be ... a little tough, especially when you have to tell your boyfriend, "I'm sorry, I need to go away for three months and kiss other men while you stay here."

Of course, there's more to being a Hollywood star than just making out with cute actors. You also have to stay in tip-top shape! Fortunately, it doesn't look as if January will have any trouble shedding her baby weight, thanks to her no-nonsense approach to eating. "I have never dieted," she reveals. "I just listen to whatever my body craves. I don't deny myself anything. I don't crave sweets or unhealthy things very often. But when I do, like if I'm in a bad mood and I'm in traffic, I'll stop at McDonald's and get a strawberry shake and fries and not feel guilty at all, because I deserve it."
