Gwyneth Goes Country

Although I'm personally getting a little tired of Gwyneth Paltrow -- from her singing debut on the Country Music Awards in November to her guest-starring stint on "Glee" -- I had better get prepared to see a little more of her now that she's officially kicked off a publicity push to promote her new flick, "Country Strong," which hits theaters on January 7.

Look Back at Over 16 Years of InStyle Covers

The actress was interviewed by one of her many famous friends, Faith Hill, for InStyle's 200th issue, where she opens up about taking on the challenging role of a country singer. Interestingly enough, Paltrow -- who is married in real-life to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin -- plays opposite Hill's hubby, Tim McGraw, in the dramatic film about a fallen country star trying to resurrect her career.

"I've never prepared for anything more in my life," shares Gwyneth of the experience. "There was studying with an accent coach, learning to play guitar, and, of course, the singing. My voice didn't have any power or strength at all, and I wanted to try and sing properly."

In the end, Paltrow was pleased with the results. "You know, last night when I was watching the film, I thought, 'This is the best job I've ever done.' Normally I can't stand to see myself, but with this film I felt like it all came together, all that hard work and putting myself in such an uncomfortable position where I felt so scared of how I was going to do it. I'm happy with how it turned out. I am."
