Oh ladies, you'll be green with envy over this one! Katherine Heigl and Brooke Shields both hit the red carpet wearing Indian designer Naeem Khan's emerald green gown from his Resort 2010 collection. What's a girl to do? That's right ... Game on!
First off, we have Ms. Heigl, who wore the sequined number to the London premiere of her romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth" back in August 2009. The 31-year-old was anything but ugly in the one-shoulder number, which she belted with a narrow ribbon to show off her hourglass curves. The former "Grey's Anatomy" doc accessorized with simple gray strappy heels and a loose updo.
Brooke Shields donned the very same gown last Thursday to the 45th Annual National Magazine Awards in New York. The 44-year-old star opted for long, loose waves, and coordinated her clutch, heels, and jewels perfectly.
The striking emerald hue is a bold choice, and both Heigl and Shields pull off the color with no problem at all. I like that Katherine has added definition by belting her gown, but Brooke proves there's no need to cinch as she looks hot wearing the dress as is.
So really, it comes down to the hair. By wearing her hair down, Shields obscures the elegant neckline of the one-shoulder dress, and for this she loses points. Heigl's bare neck makes the gown pop just that little bit more, so for me, it's Heigl all the way, and that's the not so "ugly" truth!
