Evan Rachel Wood Goes Dark

Evan Rachel Wood's roster of roles isn't exactly a sunnyone. She first gained critical attention in 2003 playing a drug-addicted teenin the film "Thirteen." Five years later, she portrayed the estrangedand bitter daughter of Mickey Rourke's past-his-prime protagonist in "TheWrestler." And these days, she can be seen both on the small screen -- asthe cold-hearted Veda in the HBO mini-series "Mildred Pierce" -- andon the big one, playing the daughter of the first woman ever to be executed bythe U.S. government in Robert Redford's "The Conspirator." So haveall these dark characters rubbed off on her? Maybe.

During a recent interview withEsquire, the 23-year-old actress proved she thinks aboutdeath quite a bit -- or at least a lot more than most people her age. Accordingto the magazine, she's already written a will and has madeplans to have her ashes scattered in both her hometown of Raleigh, NorthCarolina, and in Paris. Oh, and she wants the Pink Floyd tune "Shine onYou Crazy Diamond" playing at her funeral.

"I was a teenager in Hollywood with a divorcedfamily -- there's gonna be pain there. I've got plenty to draw from," Woodsays of her ability to cry on cue when filming.

And while she's been nominated for a Golden Globe andcalled one of best actresses of her generation, she knows she also has acertain reputation, given her nine tattoos and her rocky relationship with gothGod Marilyn Mason. (The two ended their engagement last year.) "I don'tknow!" Wood says, laughing. "I'm constantly changing, I'm constantlygrowing. I think I'm a little controversial? ... I just try and keep somemystery, so hopefully people can't really put their finger on it."

So what does the red-headed beauty have to say to all ofthose people who can't understand her attraction to a guy like Manson? "Iwas always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls ... I'm into androgyny ingeneral." she explains. "I think one of the things that freakedpeople out so much is that we looked so different."

And speaking of guys and girls, Wood reveals she datesboth sexes and that she's "up for anything."
