Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s New Gig

Even though I'm a huge fan of discount shopping, I am not a regular QVC viewer. In fact, I don't believe I've ever watched it, except perhaps as part of an "Apprentice" challenge every once in a while. But in these tough economic times, which I tend to mention more than I care to in this blog, QVC sure seems like a nice place to save a few bucks.

Following in the footsteps of Joan Rivers and a few former "Project Runway" contestants, another celebrity has partnered with the home-shopping behemoth to launch a collection of budget-minded fashions. This time said celebrity is "The View's" lone conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Unlike many star designers, Hasselbeck actually has a background that kind of qualifies her for this new role. If you remember the petite blonde from her "Survivor" days, you may recall that she was identified as a shoe designer, and according to a QVC video she even designed a pair of softball cleats during a college internship. Hasselbeck then parlayed her "Survivor" fame into a hosting gig on the Style Network's now-defunct "The Look for Less" in which she showed how to get fashionable styles for less, natch.

With her QVC collection, Hasselbeck is once again helping TV watchers buy clothes without breaking the bank, but I wouldn't say the looks are ultra-stylish or particularly of-the-moment. If you're looking for a few fun tops or a pair of white capris, then head on over to the QVC website and check out the collection. You can also watch videos from Hasselbeck's appearance this week on the network.
