Ashley Greene strips to her skivvies, talks about life after ‘Twilight’

When Ashley Greene was cast as Alice Cullen in the mega-blockbuster movie series "The Twilight Saga," the 25-year-old Florida native was handed what could be described as a golden ticket. While most actors struggle throughout their entire careers to find paying jobs, Greene — who recently wrapped the series' fifth and final film, "Breaking Dawn: Part 2," which will be out this fall — can be a little more selective about her career choices, thanks to the magical winning combination of her "Twilight" paychecks, and, well, international stardom. And, although she's loved playing Robert Pattinson's sister in the vampire flicks, she's looking forward to tackling new projects.

30 Steps to Your Best Summer Ever

In the next few months you'll be seeing a lot of Greene, who has three movies coming soon to a theater near you. In addition to "Breaking Dawn: Part 2," which, as the last film in the saga, is pretty much guaranteed to be tops at the box office, she'll appear in "Butter" with Jennifer Garner and Hugh Jackman, and the supernatural thriller "The Apparition" opposite Sebastian Stan. "What 'Twilight' gave me was years to consider how I wanted to work otherwise," Greene says in a new interview with Esquire.

But make no mistake, getting to this point was work. "You make five movies with the same people and they really do feel like family," Greene says of her "Twilight" pals, including close friends Kellan Lutz and Jackson Rathbone, as well as Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and the rest of the gang. "But film those same five movies in different locations, and none of the locations ever really feels like home."

And while the young Hollywood star now has many offers flowing in, Greene says it wasn't always that way. "In my second year in Los Angeles, when I was 18, I wasn't getting any bookings, so I stopped going out, stopped partying," she tells the magazine. "It was a matter of getting to the work. I had to focus."

Important Things Men Don't Know About Women

Greene, who has been dating Broadway star Reeve Carney since 2011, is now focusing on her future in Hollywood. And while many actresses are terrified of aging — as evident by all the plastic surgery on the red carpet — Greene is very much looking forward to her milestone 30th birthday in a few years. "It's a good age," she says. "It's an age of choices."
