‘World War Z 2′ Commences In Summer 2017

Paramount now knows when those speed-burning zombies will attack next. The studio has set a June 9, 2017, release date for World War Z 2, the follow-up to the 2013 hit that became the biggest domestic grosser of Brad Pitt’s career. The move sets up an action-sequel slugfest between director J.A. Bayona’s WWZ2 and Fox’s Fantastic Four 2. Of course, just how anticipated the latter will be won’t be determined until Fantastic Four bows in August. World War Z was able to shake off a swarm of negative advance press to become a half-billion-dollar international hit two summers ago. The sequel’s release date is close to the original’s June 21 launch.
