The biggest names in the music industry came together over the weekend for the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. Both old and new stars graced the red carpet for the show, but it was the youngsters who took most of the prizes. As everyone knows, it's not just the musical winners and losers people are interested in. It's the fashion too. Here is a look at some of the worst fashion at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
Estonian pop star, Kerli, had by the far the strangest outfit at this year's ceremony. There's no denying she has the "bubblegum" look perfected, but it stood out for all the wrong reasons. Her white dress would have been cute if it weren't for the bright pink stockings and the blue hair. Kerli's shoes were the worst part of the whole ensemble - platform trainers that haven't been in fashion since the Spice Girls were popular. Parts of the outfit were cool, but all together, it was a complete disaster.
Carrie Underwood? On the worst dressed list? Surely not! The country star is always so impeccably dressed, it seems impossible that she would ever be a fashion disaster. Sadly, she failed to live up to her usual standards with her enormous, frilly gown. It's not that the dress was terrible, but it was certainly over the top compared to the simplicity of the other dresses on the red carpet. It was just a little bit too "Cinderella" to be suitable for the event.
The "I'm Like A Bird" singer chose an outfit that was wrong from head to toe. The white dress bore a striking resemblance to a tablecloth, and her lacy necklace looked as though she'd stolen a matching placemat to use as an accessory. Having been in the business for many years, Nelly should know that black bras with white are a no-no, and it's even worse when the bra is higher than the dress!
Deschanel usually gets her styling right when she attends awards ceremonies, but for the Billboard Awards, she didn't quite manage to look her best. Her silver, sparkly dress would have looked adorable on her if it weren't for the thick black pantyhose she teamed it with! Flesh-colored pantyhose were invented for a reason, and they would have been a much better option with this dress.
