Sherri Shepherd Returns to ‘The View’ to Discuss Cheating on Tinder

It was a very special episode of ABC’s “The View” on Thursday, as former co-host Sherri Shepherd returned to the stage to discuss, among other things, the popular “dating” app Tinder.

During the episode’s Hot Topics segment, the subject of Tinder came up — in particular, a recent survey that found one-third of the app’s users are married, and that women are more likely to cheat using it than men.

The statistics drew a hearty endorsement from guest co-host Raven-Symone, who declared, “Get it in, ladies, get it in!”

“Every man animal goes and plays around and the women have to, like, be in a thing and take care of the children,” she added. “Go have fun!”

Symone did clarify, however, that it’s best if women put off marriage while sowing their wild oats on Tinder.

“Good Morning America Weekend” personality Paula Faris, on hand as guest co-host for the day, added that women might not actually be cheating on their spouses via Tinder, but merely doing a little window-shopping.

Faris’ suggestion elicited a sharp cautionary message from Shepherd.

“Usually when you window shop you usually go into the store and eventually buy something,” Shepherd said.

“I think that women may be looking; I don’t believe that women cheat as much,” co-host Nicolle Wallace countered.

“I don’t think it’s just looking; I think it’s just waiting for somebody to bite,” Shepherd opined.

Elsewhere during the episode, actress Maria Bello appeared to promote her recently published book, “Whatever. .. Love Is Love: Questioning the Labels We Give Ourselves.” Bello and the “View” crew discussed the increasing irrelevance of labels when it comes to people’s romantic and sexual inclinations. Naturally, the conversation turned to former Olympian Bruce Jenner’s recent “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer, during which he declared, “I am a woman.”

“I really loved that Diane couldn’t even process it when he was saying, ‘I’m not gay, I still like women’ …. and why does he need a label for that?” Bello recalled.

“And people are saying he’s brave,” the actress added. “I don’t think he’s brave. You know what I think he is? Himself. Himself, herself, whatever self he wants to be. He’s a whatever. I love you for that, Bruce.”
