‘Real Housewives’ Star Kim Richards Opens Up About Her Arrest: ‘The Whole Night Was All My Fault’

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kim Richards has broken her silence about her battle with alcoholism and recent arrest following a drunken meltdown in an interview with Dr. Phil.

The reality personality sat down with the television doctor in a special episode that will air on Tuesday, April 28.

“I was angry and frightened and I was scared,” Richards told Dr. Phil regarding her arrest on April 16. “I knew what I had done. The whole night is my fault. None of this would have happened if I didn’t drink.”

Richards was charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery of an officer after she allegedly refused to leave the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Beverly Hills Police Department said.

According to the police department, officers responded to reports of a possible fight at approximately 1.30 a.m. on April 16. Hotel security reported that an “intoxicated female” — Richards — had caused a disturbance at a hotel restaurant and was asked to leave. While being escorted from the hotel, Richards asked to use the bathroom, then refused to come out, according to police.

Police entered the bathroom and took her into custody shortly after 2 a.m. “Ms. Richards was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest,” the police department said.

After being transported for booking, police say, Richards “kicked one of the officers in the leg,” but he was uninjured.
