Kate Upton, that blonde, buxom Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl, is the "Hottest Supermodel on Earth," says Vogue magazine. The 20-year-old supermodel appears on its cover for the first time. But the 5-foot-10-inch Upton isn't content with just staring into the camera with those sultry blue/green eyes. She wants to be an actress too. "Acting I'm very interested in," she said. "I'm American, more is more!"
Let's take a look back at some of her recent headlines:
Ania, who listed herself as a "Mail order bride in training," donned a white puffer jacket with fur-lined hood over her bare torso, left it unzipped, and posed and smiled for the camera identical to the way Kate did for Sports Illustrated. The Russian became a media sensation, and Kate, who was pleased as punch, introduced us to a new hashtag - #doppelganger.
Freezing (Literary) in Antarctica
When fans saw the blonde beauty on the 2013 SI Swimsuit cover, we weren't sure if it was the real thing or a studio set. Did the folks over at Sports Illustrated seriously stick a model in the middle of Antarctica in just her bathing suit, and sometimes, just her birthday suit? Incredibly, the answer was yes. So the "Hottest Supermodel" deserves another title - "Bravest Supermodel." "When I came back I was losing hearing and eyesight because my body was shutting down," the Vogue cover girl said. "It was working so hard to keep me warm. My mom's in my ear going 'I told you not to go there. It's a bad idea!'"
On Critics Who Call Her Fat
Despite the model's rise to fame, some have belittled the curvy Kate by calling her "fat." In response to criticism about her weight by the pro-skinny site Skinny Gossip she said,"I'm not going to starve just to be thin. I want to enjoy life, and I can't if I'm not eating and miserable."
