"We Can't Stop" singer Miley Cyrus might stop twerking sometime soon.
During an interview with Hot 97, Miley was asked about her transformation from Disney princess to "Twerk Queen," and she said that her metamorphosis started when she decided to do "the smart thing" by taking some time off after "Hannah Montana." This is what she said about her break: "I just had two years of just hanging out where I was like, 'You know what? I worked really hard; I'm going to buy a dope house and do whatever I want in it and become whoever I'm supposed to be within these next two years and just like, f**k up as much as I want.'"
Part of that time was apparently spent twerking. Back in March, Ryan Seacrest talked to Miley about the popular video that featured the pop star showing off the dance move in a unicorn suit, and she said that it took a lot of work to perfect the twerk. "I've been practicing probably for the past two years, in my own time in my living room," she revealed.
Miley was thrilled by the positive reaction that her viral video received, but now she thinks that it might be time to retire the twerk. During her interview with Hot 97, she said this about her signature dance move: "I think I'm going to have to retire that at some point. It's gotten too much of like, that's what people think I do." She went on to say, "I really can sing." Miley also refused to twerk for the Hot 97 hosts and said that she won't be twerking along to the Ying Yang Twins' tune "Miley Cyrus" anytime soon -- she's got to save the move for her own music. However, she also made sure to brag that she's capable of twerking in high heels.
So will Miley replace the twerk with another signature move when she decides to retire it for good? She seems to have something rather strange up her sleeve already: Making out with doll heads. During her performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the belly-baring blonde made out with a large doll that sported her pixie hairstyle and was dressed just like her. Miley takes part in a similar creepy kiss in her "We Can't Stop" music video, so of course Jimmy Kimmel just had to ask her about what's up with all the strange smooches. According to The Huffington Post, this is how she explained her bizarre behavior: "As you can see my necklace says 'doll' -- so I'm a doll. So that's me making out with a doll version of myself. Doll-on-doll-on-doll. Me and my friends always say doll-on-doll-on-doll!" Don't worry -- you aren't the only one still scratching your head.
So what do you think -- is Miley making out with a plastic version of herself a better attention-grabbing antic than the twerk, or is it too wacky and tacky?
