Marc Anthony is a single man (AGAIN)!
His rep broke the news to People magazine saying, "Marc is no longer dating model Shannon de Lima. The amicable breakup became official right in mid-January."
The couple was spotted just weeks ago partying at Marquee in New York City, but it was apparently in the days that followed that things fell apart. A source told the magazine, "The truth is they have been having a great time together, but it no longer worked."
It may not have helped that his former wife was featured on the same publication just weeks ago opening up about her split from the star after seven years of marriage.
The new year has been flooded with news of couples calling it quits. Here are a few of the stars that are back out on the dating market after splitting up:
Jason Hoppy and Bethenny Frankel: There's no happily ever after for the "Bethenny Ever After" stars! Just before Christmas, the reality mogul announced her separation from her husband of two years saying, "It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family." Fast forward a few short weeks and the couple have already turned nasty with matching divorce filings / counter filings in which both sides are seeking physical custody and child support for their 2-year-old daughter Bryn.
Britney Spears and Jason Trawick: In the course of a few short days, the pop star made her exit from "The X Factor" and ended her year-long engagement earlier this month. At the time she said, "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends." The couple dated for three years and became engaged in December 2011. Not only did Trawick, who is her former agent, leave his relationship with the star he also lost his role as co-conservator for the singer.
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles: The singer apparently needed some new breakup material! After only two months of dating, the country star ended her romance with the One Direction singer after spending some one-on-one time together over the holidays. To add some salt to the wound, actor Michael J. Fox soon took to the airwaves to ask the singer to stay away from his 23-year-old son, Sam. The actor later apologized for his comments.
