Steve Honig has reached his breaking point.
Lindsay Lohan's trusted publicist resigned on Oct. 24 after serving as her rep for a year and a half, E! News confirms. "I'm not discussing this out of respect for my client," Honig told E! when asked to detail the reason for his resignation.
Honig has seen his client, 26, through quite a bit during his tenure. Most recently, an intense October fight with her mother, Dina, during which the actress called the 50-year-old "delusional" and alleged that she used cocaine. Following the spat -- brought on by a disagreement over $40,000 Lindsay lent Dina -- the actress backtracked and called the drug allegation "a hurtful and untruthful lie."
In September, Honig confirmed his client was assaulted in a New York City hotel room by Christian LaBella after an argument escalated over cell phone photos. Both Lohan and LaBella filed harassment claims against each other. LaBella's assault charges were later dropped.
Honig also stood by Lohan's side in the aftermath of a hit-and-run accident, an alleged jewelry theft case and her June treatment for "exhaustion," which was precipitated by the star working 85 hours in four days while filming Lifetime's Liz & Dick.
Those who know Lohan best -- including mom Dina -- are admittedly not proud of the laundry list of headlines she's made in recent months.
"I'm certainly not making excuses for Lindsay's behavior," mom Dina told The New York Daily News in September, after her daughter was arrested for allegedly clipping a man's leg with her Porsche at the Dream Hotel in New York City. "But she's a 26-year-old woman."
