Lindsay Lohan is in trouble again. The "Mean Girls" actress skipped out on a $46,350 bill at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. and is now banned from the famous hotel.
The hotel alleges that Lindsay stayed at the chic spot during June and July racking up a slew of charges after emptying out the minibar and ordering expensive room service. The hotel demanded payment and when Lindsay failed to pay the hotel kicked her out.
The general manager sent Lindsay a letter obtained by TMZ that stated, "As you are aware from our previous correspondences starting on July 8, you currently owe the hotel a grand total of $46,350.04 in charges for your stay starting on May 30, 2012. As we have made repeated attempts to resolve this pressing matter over the last few weeks without any resolution, I regret to inform you that we will no longer be able to extend any further credit for you to remain in the hotel."
Daaang. Why did Lindsay rack up such a large bill at the hotel? Couldn't she have found a nice apartment to rent for way less? Just when we thought the troubled actress was preparing for a career comeback it looks like she can't help but cause problems. Lindsay isn't the only star with money problems.
Nick is a long time veteran of the industry so how does such a talented actor with many hit movies under his belt go broke? Big time spending. Nick at one point owned 15 homes, two castles, his own island, four luxury yachts, 22 exotic cars, several pieces of expensive one of a kind art, and in 2007 paid over $250,000 for a Tarbosaurus dinosaur skull. It's sad to see that even when you're making $40 million a year you can still go bankrupt.
Kevin and his wife actress Kyra Sedgwick came close to being broke after the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme was revealed in 2008. The two never revealed just how much they lost but they made jokes about how they needed work. This summer Kyra went on "Piers Morgan Tonight" to talk about the impact Madoff's choices had on her family.
"[We lost] hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. The fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything," she said.
Heidi and Spencer Pratt
These two became famous as young adults growing up on "The Hills" but their ridiculous spending habits and reality fame soon got the best of the couple. In 2010 they admitted they were homeless and broke, having spent over $10 million on luxury cars, plastic surgery, and failed music careers owing $2 million in back taxes.
"We should have been low-key and saved. We spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and I've looked into unemployment checks," Spencer said at the time. These two still have not bounced back from their bad money mistakes although they continue to do promotional events here and there in Vegas.
