Oh Laverne! Classic comedy co-stars Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams are set to reunite on the small screen in a scripted series for the first time in more than three decades.
The "Laverne & Shirley" co-stars will appear in Nickelodeon's "Sam & Cat," the network announced on Wednesday.
According to Nickelodeon, Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Cat (Ariana Grande) have to rename their babysitting business because it is too similar to "Salmon Cat," a TV show from the 1970s. In order to solve the problem, Sam and Cat have to track down the longtime feuding "Salmon Cat" creators - played by Penny and Cindy.
In related "Sam & Cat" news, Ariana is the new cover star for Seventeen magazine's August issue and she opened up about the lengthy process to make her debut album.
"I'm a big perfectionist," she told the mag of why she's been working on her LP for over three years. "I'm trying to channel super-confident women like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Beyonce, because I realized that if you want something, you really have to go for it, just like they do."
"Sam & Cat" airs Saturdays at 8 PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
