Hollywood celebs went all in at the "Get Lucky for Lupus" 4th Annual Poker Tournament in Los Angeles on September 13, 2012, playing some high-stakes cards for a great cause.
Everyone gathered on the penthouse level of the Peterson Automotive Museum for the bash, that drew hotties Karina Smirnoff, Gilles Marini and Kym Johnson from this season's upcoming "Dancing with the Stars," as well as previous contenders Chaz Bono, Joey Fatone and Shanna Moakler. "Major Crimes" star Tony Denison, pro wrestler The Miz, "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison and Oscar nominee (and all around cool guy) Don Cheadle were also in on the deal.
The "House of Lies" star was serious about his poker, but even more serious about supporting the cause of helping Lupus LA raise funds to fight that debilitating autoimmune disease that affects 1.5 million people in the United States.
The party swirled inside and out, as celebs outside indulged in libations from generous sponsors including One Hope Wine (the wine that gives back to charity with every bottle sold), Heineken, Coke and TeQava Tequila. Many nibbled on spinach salads, but some went all in, chomping on steak-and-pepper subs, hot dogs and even cotton candy. And all bid generously on the many silent auction items arrayed across the wraparound patio.
Inside, the poker players vied for an all-expenses paid trip to Mazatlan, with "Mini Me" Vern Troyer, Carl Weathers, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Guiney and Cobi Jones joining in. Even "Storage Wars" star Dave Hester brought some cash to throw in the pot; he not only played, but also ran a live auction. The whole evening amassed over $70,000 for the cause.
