Rio de Janeiro police received a complaint on Tuesday about Bieber and his friends spray-painting the wall of the former Hotel Nacional. By the time authorities arrived on the scene, the singer was already gone, but photos of Bieber in action surfaced on a Brazilian news website later that day.
Police then began a three-day investigation, involving the testimony of the photographers who snapped him spray-painting, local authorities and Bieber's security team.
Though vandalism in Brazil can result in up to one year in jail, Bieber will only have to pay an undetermined fine.
Bieber has been flippant about his vandalism on Instagram, posting one of the paparazzi pictures of him spray-painting captioned: "Great shot pap great shot, I might frame this."
Another photo of Bieber and his work claims, "Every place I have tagged has been approved I do not suggest tagging private property.. I still suck but i have fun doing it ;)"
Only last week, Bieber was caught spray-painting a wall in Bogota, Colombia, and had to be escorted away by police.
