Jennie Garth is stepping out in NYC with a slimmer body and a new attitude. The TV actress has had a rough year. She announced her divorce from "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli earlier this year came after 11 years of matrimony.
Both stars have been open about the pains of the breakup. On her reality show "Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country" Jennie told her therapist, "I think when you get married you hope it's forever and you hope you're going to grow old together and it really threw me for a loop." Peter also spoke candidly about the split while guest co-hosting on "Live With Kelly." The actor admitted, "It's very painful to break up with somebody, especially after you've been together for 17 years and have kids. I've tried to stay really quiet about it for the sake of my kids."
The former couple has three daughters together, Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5. Peter, best known for playing Carlisle Cullen, was the one to file for divorce. Of his decision, Jennie confesses, "You're angry that you weren't enough for that person. So I don't know if I'm angry at myself for not being enough or angry at him for not considering me to be enough."
Jennie seems to be healing by throwing herself into her work. She recently partnered with Crest and Oral B to promote healthy habits. She says that the back to school cycle is the perfect time to remind kids about healthy living. Jennie explains, "As a parent, I want to build a strong and healthy foundation for my daughters, which is why I have always tried to instill good habits related to nutrition, fitness and oral care." Today, she hosted a Tweet Chat answering fans' questions about her new objective.
Garth is not the only "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum to find her footing on reality TV. Tori Spelling is building an empire on her brand as a hands-on mom. Currently pregnant with her fourth child, Spelling's "Tori and Dean" Oxygen Network franchise is just the beginning. The artist formerly known as Donna Martin is also a publishing powerhouse and web entrepreneur.
Brenda Walsh's doppelganger is no slouch either. Shannen Doherty recently announced a return to college. The actress also starred on a WE-TV reality show called "Shannen Says." The show co-starred the "Charmed" star's mother, hubbie and friends as the star prepared for a new wedding.
