The holiday season can be a stressful time, especially for certain married Hollywood stars who can't seem to find the mistletoe.. A number of celebrities have either filed for divorce, finalized their divorces or re-entered court with ex-spouses this holiday season. Here's a look at a few of the most notable names.
Hulk Hogan and Linda Bollea -The wrestling superstar, whose legal name is Terry Bollea, recently settled for divorce with his wife Linda. While Linda was reported to have received 70% of Hogan's income as a part of the settlement--a shockingly huge percentage my any measure--it didn't stop her from releasing a scandalous autobiography titled "Wrestling The Hulk: My Life Against The Ropes." Linda claims that Hogan was abusive and implies that he was involved in a homosexual relationship.
The claims have brought the couple back into court this holiday season, as Terry is suing his wife for libel.
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz -The two musicians were very vocal in interviews about the health of their relationship, but while they remain friends, they filed for divorce and finalized the settlement on November 22nd of this year.
Wentz, best known as a member of the band Fallout Boy, will share custody of his son with Simpson, 3-year-old Bronx. Simpson is currently dating Boardwalk Empire's Vincent Piazza.
Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall -Hall and Carpenter play siblings on Showtime's hit serial killer thriller Dexter, but they were also married from 2008 until December 2nd of this year, when their divorce was finalized for irreconcilable differences . Carpenter insists that she still loves Hall and values their friendship.
"We take very good care of each other and our cast, we always have," Carpenter said, " and I'm just really lucky."
Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher -The biggest divorce news of the season is probably Moore and Kutcher's divorce, as the Hollywood A-listers were arguably one of the most frequent targets of tabloid reports and rumor columns. Recently, some magazines have accused Kutcher of infidelity.
Kutcher and Moore have neither confirmed nor denied the reasons for their divorce. Moore released a statement that read in part: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."
As Kutcher briefly tweeted, "marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
