Get ready Hugh Jackman fans, because he's currently filming "The Wolverine" and is hairier than ever. He was spotted on set sporting a full beard and messy shoulder-length hair that looks as though it hasn't seen a good washing in awhile. To get his hot body for the role, he reportedly packs on the extra 30 pounds of muscle by eating 6,000 calories a day. On July 30, he excitedly tweeted "We're on day 1 of shooting…..wolverine is back…feel so pumped about this one……never felt so ready!!!! will keep y'all posted!!!" We're looking forward to seeing the finished product, but unfortunately we have to wait awhile. The movie is set for release on July 26, 2013. Other than throwing himself into his new role, what else has he been up to lately?
"Les Miserables" talk
On June 23, the legendary actor wrapped up shooting on the film adaptation of "Les Miserables" and he recently opened up about the experience. During an interview with Empire magazine, he explained "So much of your brain is on the miming, then you've got to act. The very first scene that I'm in, we were close to the Alps. It was below zero, it was very windy and you can see steam, you can hear the cold in my voice. It feels immediate and real. ' Les Miserables' is one of the most emotive musicals ever written. There's no walk in the park scene. Everything is full-on.'' Right before filming wrapped, he told Parade magazine, "It is a rare feeling to be in something that you know you will look back on as one the highlights of your life." The movie is set to hit theaters on December 14, 2012.
"Rise of the Guardians"
The triple-threat actor obviously likes to keep busy! The trailer for his new animated movie "Rise of the Guardians," which is an adaptation of William Joyce's book of the same name, was recently released and it's adorable. For the movie, he takes on a role he's never done before - the Easter Bunny. With its November 21, 2012 release date, it will be out in theaters just in time for the holidays.
"Orders to Kill"
You'll be seeing even more of the 43-year-old on the big screen as he's just signed on to do "Orders to Kill," a movie about the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Jackman will play William Pepper, a lawyer who believes James Earl Ray never shot MLK and that the US government killed the legendary civil rights leader for his opposition of the Vietnam War. The film will be based on Pepper's book "Orders to Kill: The Truth Behind the Murder of Martin Luther King, Jr." There's no doubt this will be a controversial story that will have everyone talking.
Which of his movies are you excited to see?
