Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt is back in the limelight after a few years off. The actress is starring in the upcoming release "The Sessions" as a sex surrogate who helps a polio-stricken man experience intimacy for the first time.
Her character in "The Sessions" spends much of the movie in the nude. The 49-year-old actress wasn't afraid of baring all, though.
"Any hesitation I had about the nudity, I think what I thought was it's getting late. You know what I mean?" Hunt told IndieWire earlier this fall. "It's getting too late in my life to care about the small things. It's getting too late to not be brave, to not live my life fully, to not try to be an artist. Trivial things like how nice your hotel room is, or if you have to be naked for a while, they fade away."
It's not like she has anything to be concerned about. Hunt looks better than ever - both clothed and unclothed. She's truly one of the most under-appreciated beauties in Hollywood.
With her role, Hunt becomes one of the film industry's "older" actresses who gets naked onscreen. What other sexy older women opt to drop their kit for camera.
Another Helen - Helen Mirren - also looks for every opportunity to get naked on film. The British stunner has appeared nude in a variety of films throughout her decades-long career, including into her 60s. Mirren, now 65, appeared completely nude in 2010's "Love Ranch." She plays a brothel madam in the film.
"I didn't want it to be a fake, romantic soft-lensed moment," she told the U.K. Daily Mail of opting to go nude. "As you get older, naked stuff gets easier... more to do with the role than what men in the audience think. There's a liberation about it."
We're sure men aren't complaining, Helen.
Kathy Bates is one incredible actress, but she's not exactly known for nudity in film. However, she changed all that when she opted to go topless in the Jack Nicholson film "About Schmidt."
"We had a very small set that day so Alexander (Payne) made me feel very comfortable," she said of being naked onscreen. "I even had a little Cosmopolitan before I got in the tub to kind of take the edge off. All in all, it was a good experience."
British actress Anne Reid, 77, was 68 when she bedded Daniel Craig in the 2003 film "The Mother." The film was pretty raunchy, though Reid said she took the part because it was a departure from the roles she was routinely offered as an older woman.
The only problem she had was " with the 17 guys from the crew who were also in the room. But I never felt awkward with Daniel, ever. I was more worried about showing my old body," she said. "But my son said to me the night before we filmed it, 'For God's sake, mum, it's just your pride. Don't worry'."
Good advice from her son!
