Wednesday night, Gwen Stefani took London by storm with a metallic optical illusion dress. The "No Doubt" singer and her bandmates were in London promoting their first album since 2001.
The optical illusion effect was striking but not overpowering. She balanced out the dress with solid black sleeves, tight-fitting black tights, black heels, and a box clutch. The black and metallic color scheme complimented her complexion while providing a nice contrast to her blond hair. The entire ensemble was both edgy and elegant, and flattered her figure.
Gwen is not the only one to make a metallic statement. Who else is rocking the metallic dresses?
The "Glee" beauty seems to be doing fine without Sarah Jessica Parker's "couture vault." This week, Lea showed up for an interview with "Jimmy Kimmel Live" wearing a sizzling silver and white and silver metallic mini-dress that flattered her figure and showed off her long legs.
Lea topped off the ensemble with pink satin shoes, rosy pink lips, and smokey eyes. This look was both feminine and cutting edge.
This month in Australia, Kim rocked a shimmering gray metallic dress that featured an elaborate optical illusion pattern. She complemented the ensemble with silver stilettos and a silver clutch. While the overall ensemble was fun and interesting, I could have done without the bun. The updo made it look a bit stuffy.
This month, Paris attended the 'Lady Gaga Fame' fragrance launch event. She showed up in a flattering A-line black optical illusion metallic dress.
She completed the look with black heels, a silver watch, and a bod black patterned clutch. The clutch could have potentially clashed with the ensemble, but somehow it worked. The solid-color black gloves also provided a nice contrast to the patterned dress.
The "Mad Men" star has really been changing it up lately. This month, she showed up at a fashion show in New York City wearing a technicolor-themed metallic dress. We're still trying to make out the colors of this vertically-striped cocktail dress. The stripes appear to be black and a dusty gold.
She completed the ensemble with simple black heels and a sating black clutch. Her new platinum blond hair and bright red lipstick didn't quite match the dress, but they did help to brighten up what could have been a Halloween-colored ensemble.
