Due to the weather and not being able to fit my pregnant self in all the cute spring styles, I haven't bought much of a new wardrobe. Accessories, on the other hand, are an easy way to update your look; and size is no problem! "Accessories are a great way to lighten up your look for spring" says Kate Dimmock, fashion director for People StyleWatch. Kate added, "They add a touch of charm and sophistication--plus it's a great way to refresh your wardrobe!"
Here are five of the hottest trends in accessories to give a try:
Pastel shoes : Go for soft leathers or suedes in shades of pale pink and yellow. It's a nice feminine touch! (Just check out Kerry Washington's shoes for inspiration!)
Bright bags : Try out a bright bag to play up your neutral outfits. A pop of orange or green on a bag with classic shapes adds an instant update to your favorite black pants and top.
Oxfords : This is such a huge trend right now. It's an update on the men's classic--an oxford shoe. Look for oxfords in metallics(like silver), pastels, floral patterns and more. Oxfords go well with your favorite jeans, rolled at the cuff.
Polished day bags : This is an easy way to always look pulled together. Go for simple shapes and classic designs like a structured leather tote bag; you can carry all of your things in one bag!
Global jewelry : We're seeing global everywhere this spring. A way to incorporate this trend into your look is by choosing global-inspired pieces of jewelry. With beading, tassels or bright colors (like blues and pinks), this is a great way to add color to your look.
