If SoundCloud crashes Monday, users will understand why – it was a banner day for Internet duets.
First, Celine Dion’s team effort with singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, “Incredible,” found its way to the web. The sound is far more Ne-Yo than Dion — who has been attempting to branch out from her straight ballad style — but the combination of her strong voice and a piano repetition is not that far off from the song’s title.
Also scorching up Twitter feeds, Eminem and Rihanna came together for a third time on their own highly-anticipated track from Slim Shady’s upcoming studio album, “The Marshall Mathers LP 2,” which comes out Nov. 5.
On “The Monster,” Mr. Mathers offers several verses — and voices — of swift rhymes Rihanna sings a haunting hook.
