In case you didn't know, life is good for Cindy Crawford.

The supermodel, 49, and her gorgeous family, which includes husband Rande Gerber and her model teens Presley, 16, and Kaia, 13, gave a peek at how they spend one month each summer at their cottage on an island in Ontario, Canada, in the new issue of Vogue. Let's just say "cottage" is probably the wrong word to describe their accommodations in their home away from Malibu.

While the log cabin the Gerbers built seven years ago is rather posh — Ralph Lauren executive Alfredo Paredes, a family friend, helped with the look of the interior — it's probably the closest this family gets to roughing it. "I like to think that we're especially hard-core because we're island cottagers," Crawford says. "There's no getting into the car and going to the movies when it rains." What?! Can't they use the seaplane?

The Gerbers spend the bulk of their days outside participating in every water sport you can imagine or just simply sitting around on the dock. Cindy doesn't even wear makeup most of the time.

"You're the real you up here," she explains. "You never have your game face on, your party face. When you're getting dragged behind a boat on an inner tube, it's hard to have much of a facade."

The author adds some more color to the piece with his own observations. "Cindy makes her famous banana bread before the kids are up," he writes. "Water sports from the expansive east-facing dock dominate the daylight hours: Presley likes to cruise the lake in his Whaler (though he just learned to drive a car, he has had his boating license since age 9); there is cliff diving nearby, bass fishing, logrolling, and wake surfing. When they’re bored with straight-up waterskiing, the kids will tow their friends on trash-can lids. At sunset, the family piles into a boat with drinks and snacks; perhaps they'll see friends on a dock somewhere and pull up for an hour. Back at home, there is shuffleboard in the screened-in porch, and Cindy and Kaia have a puzzle going." This sounds so idyllic, we're thinking Cindy might want to be a guest editor for Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop website.

Crawford later explains why there are no clocks in the house and why she never wears a watch at her humble abode. "The point here is to slow everything down," she says. "Life moves quickly, but it will wait."

The only thing that would've made this particular spread photographed by Carter Smith more perfect would have been a visit from their close friends, the Clooneys.
