Could we be seeing Chris Brown in a wrestling ring? It looks like WWE superstar CM Punk has issued a challenge to the Grammy nominated artist. The singer responded with a nasty tweet that accused the wrestler of taking steroids among other things. It doesn't look like Brown will be headed to the ring any time soon. However, plenty of celebrities have stepped into the squared circle to take part in some sports entertainment. Here is a look at some that have gone down that path.
The "Jersey Shore" star probably wants to expand her career once the beach bash runs its course. Maybe she has a future in the WWE. The girl we all know as the "meatball" took part in the biggest event in wrestling. She was involved in a six person tag team match at WrestleMania XXVII. The match only lasted a few minutes but Snooki got the winning pin after delivering a cartwheel kick to one of her opponents.
The ex-husband of Courtney Cox looks like anything but a professional wrestler. However, he got his crack at the big time when he participated in a couple of WCW matches. In fact, Arquette even won the world championship. He only held the belt for a short time before losing it. His involvement was all part of a promotional effort for his movie "Ready to Rumble." The movie was a flop and WCW was out of business shortly after the stunt.
The eccentric basketball star bucked the celebrity trend by wrestling as a bad guy. His gig started while he was suspended from the NBA. He actually headlined a couple of big events. He once teamed with Hulk Hogan in a match. Rodman wrestled on and off from 1997 through 1999. This was another entertainment gig that the man with the multi-colored hair could add to his resume.
The late night talk show host actually put on some tights and participated in a wrestling match. In 1998 the comedian teamed up with Diamond Dallas Page to take on Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, the guy in charge of WCW at the time. Leno displayed a lot of antics but not a lot of ability. Still, he scored the winning pin for his team and retired undefeated as a professional wrestler.
