Sad news: '90s rapper Chris Kelly - one-half of the duo Kriss Kross - was found dead in his Atlanta-area home on Wednesday night. An autopsy is planned, though sources are reporting that the 34-year-old died from an overdose.
His mom, Donna Kelly Pratte, released a statement remembering her "fun-loving, life of the party" son.
"Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him," she wrote. "His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him."
We're not the only ones bummed to hear the news of his untimely passing. Several celebrities took to Twitter after the news broke to express their condolences and remember the "Mac Daddy."
"To the world Chris was Mac Daddy but to me, he was a son I never had," hip hop mogul Jermaine Dupri wrote in a statement. He was only 19 when he discovered 13-year-olds Kelly and Chris Smith in an Atlanta mall. "His understanding of what we set out to do, from day one, was always on point. His passion for the music, his love for doing shows, his want to better than everyone else, was always turnout up."

"I don't care who you are, we were all captivated by Kris Kross, in fact @mcgfilm even wore his pants backwards for a week," the former Sugar Ray singer and television host wrote.
