Beyonce is a D-I-V-A!
It should come as no surprise that Beyonce is a grade-A diva. After years of living the fabulous life, the star has a few pesky requirements when it comes to her backstage needs. Here are some of the things Lady B has demanded while on tour in London:
Dressing Room: Rather than get ready for her shows in their brand new star quality dressing room, the "Bootylicious" singer demanded a room sized for an entire sports team. A source told the Evening Standard, "The new dressing rooms are superb - it's like you've stepped into a luxury apartment. But she surprised everyone by turning them down, going for the larger ones that are used by sports teams when they play at the 02. They are much bigger though, and she was given free rein to refurbish them to her own taste."
Transportation: Rather than travel to the stadium by car or even by (gasp) bus, the ultimate diva has requested that she be allowed to fly in nightly in a private, personalized helicopter.
Image: No unflattering photos allowed. According to multiple reports, no photo credentials have been granted for the tour because she doesn't want any unflattering images published of her.
Details: In addition to her dressing room and transportation requests, Bey has reportedly piled on a bunch of oddball requests to meet her highbrow expectations. The clothing police will be on the prowl backstage to ensure that all crew members are wearing 100 percent cotton clothing at all times. Not any old water will do. To ensure that she and her crew are receiving only the best nature has to offer, only alkaline water may be served chilled to 21 degrees and served with $900 titanium straws. Even the bathrooms must be customized to include new toilet seats and red toilet paper at every venue.
The use of oddball riders is hardly new in celebrity circles. Here are a few of the other craziest celebrity rider demands:
Madonna: The queen of pop music has many demands to ensure that her 200 person entourage are properly cared for while on tour. The group which includes 30 bodyguards, personal chefs, a yoga instructor and an acupuncturist must have 20 international phone lines available to keep in touch with friends and family. Backstage the Material Girl must be greeted with a flood of lilies and light pink roses that have had their stems trimmed to exactly six inches long.
Mariah Carey: The "American Idol" judge demands a tranquil space for her traveling needs. In addition to a living room space bare of any busy patterns, Mariah demands to be greeted with two dozen white roses, vanilla aromatherapy candles, 20 white kittens and 100 doves.
Katy Perry: Shhh!! When it comes to the transportation of the "California Girls" singer chauffeurs are not allowed to start a conversation with the singer and are specifically barred from staring at the backseat through the rear view mirror.
