Just like Ashley Tisdale, you've probably been spending your summer hitting up outdoor parties and sunning yourself on the beach. And while your skin has a nice summer glow going on, your hair has probably taken a beating.
1. Shield your strands. It is always important to protect your hair from the sun to avoid dryness and fading so try a product with UV protection. Jackson and Ciambrone recommend Kerastase Huile Celeste Shimmering Protective Mist ($39, kerastase-use.com).
2. Cut off damage. Keeping your haircut regularly is also also very important, even regularly taking an 1/8" off all over will prevent hair from splitting all the way up the shaft.
3. Condition thoroughly. Good post-summer hair maintenance can be achieved through weekly conditioning with intense masque treatments to counteract the drying effects of sun, wind and salt water. Us recommends: L'Oreal EverSleek Renweing Deep Conditioner ($8.99, drugstore.com).
4. Boost your color. After having spent most of the summer in the sun, your hair color is certainly in need of some revitalization. Brunettes can look to lo-lights and glosses to tone out any brassiness. Since blondes tend to get overly light, golden or creamy glosses to refresh your highlights is a must.
