There were plenty of celeb sightings at the 12-day long Cannes Film Festival and many of the stars gave us a lot of fashion eye candy to drool over. The event is all about whipping out the high fashion and taking risks with the ensembles. Out of all the celebs who attended, only a handful succeeded in pulling off fabulous looks from head-to-toe. So who rocked the red carpet during the last half of the 2012 Cannes Festival?
The singer attended the premiere of " Therese Desqueyroux" and looked absolutely stunning in a pale blue Roberto Cavalli gown that had a plunging neckline and a frilly train. Sparkling embellishments dotted the straps and a small diamond area on the bodice. Her hair was down and wavy and didn't look bad, but it would have looked much better in an updo.
Very rarely does this model disappoint on the red carpet. At the 2012 Cannes Festival, she wore a strapless silver Marchesa gown that was completely embellished on the bodice and had ruffled tulle on the bottom. The ensemble really was the epitome of fabulous fashion. She wore her hair in a wavy updo and finished off the look with large dangling earrings.
The pregnant beauty glowed at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival while attending the premiere for "Mud". The navy blue Atelier Versace gown had double straps, an empire waist and a center leg slit. The gown sparkled thanks to a plethora of Swarovski crystals. The back had a cut out and cross-cross design. She finished the look with dangling diamond earrings, a bracelet and silver heels.
The "Twilight" beauty has been doing really well on the red carpet this past year and at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, she had not one, but two gorgeous looks. She wore a red Reem Acra gown at the "Cosmopolis" premiere. Although the plunging neckline was attention-grabbing, it was the lace panels in the back that were breathtaking. The only problem was her hair that was in an updo. It went past the point of messy and just looked plain sloppy. Her second fabulous frock was the pale pink Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquièregown that had green, silver and black embroidery from top-to-bottom. The dress also had a plunging neckline, a thigh-high leg slit and a skinny black belt around the middle. Her hair was down and wavy which was a bit plain but still worked.
Alexandra Maria Lara
If there's one lady who exuded pure elegance at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, it's this actress. While attending the "On the Road" premiere, she wore a white short sleeve Elie Saab gown that was beaded from top-to-bottom. Lara looked absolutely ethereal. Her hair was in an updo which only accentuated the gorgeous bodice of the dress.
It's so easy for a white dress to be incredibly boring. However, the white Dolce & Gabbana dress the actress wore was anything but. It had incredibly delicate detailing that Dunst pulled off beautifully. She accessorized with white and gold heels, a watch and stud earrings. Her hair was up and she added a floral headband for the perfect touch.
