"American Idol" viewers are fed up with diva Nicki Minaj. But how do the producers feel about the foul-mouthed rapper?
Rumors are floating around that higher-ups are tired of her over-the-top antics. According to a HollywoodLife source, "The chances of Nicki returning to the show next season are slim to none, she is such a major headache with her behavior and it's really taxing on many people with the crew. So her behavior is wearing thin on many people this season."
Is there any truth to these rumors? Who knows? Either way, Nicki seems quite pleased with her performance on "Idol" thus far. As she commented during a press conference, "My best and worst Idol moments? I don't have a worst Idol moment. I've been spectacular. Yes, I am going to toot my own horn. And then my best moment is every single moment. I'll toot it again!"
Nicki is not the only one who has been branded with the "diva" label. Who else has been accused of diva behavior lately?
Nicki's "Idol" predecessor may have lost a lucrative gig in India last week because of "outrageous demands."
JLo had been slated to perform at an Indian cricket event. The event would likely have drawn in around 60 million viewers. However, reports surfaced that she had begun making outrageous demands, such as a private plane and banks of hotel rooms for her entourage.
According to a NY Post source, "She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was an idiotic move because the audience for this event is huge. It's like the Super Bowl halftime show: Last year, it drew 56 million viewers."
One of Justin's latest headlines involves his monkey being detained. On Friday, Bieber attempted to take his pet monkey, Mally, into Germany. However, German health officials put the monkey into quarantine. Apparently, Justin didn't have the necessary paperwork. So now, he's facing a $15,000 fine, plus the costs of caring for the monkey.
This incident has drawn comparisons to the late Michael Jackson's relationship with his own pet monkey, Bubbles. Sorry Biebs, but you will never out-diva MJ.
A few weeks ago, Hollyscoop posted a rumor that "Glee" was close to being canceled because of Lea's on-set diva behavior.
According to the rumor, "'Glee' may be going off the air after next season. [Creator] Ryan Murphy and the rest of the cast cannot stand Lea Michele. She acts like a diva and is not nice to anyone anymore, even her boyfriend Cory Monteith...She's forgotten where she came from and no one likes her anymore, not even Ryan, who's responsible for her career."
However, this rumor looks to be completely unsubstantiated. Several outlets have been quick to refute the report as "absolute nonsense." As GossipCop comments, "The only thing that's clear is that Hollyscoop wanted to stir up some drama by putting Glee and 'cancelled' in the same headline, even though there's no truth to the rumor."
"Bachelor" Sean Lowe
Rumors have been floating around that Sean has been a diva nightmare behind the scenes on "Dancing With the Stars." Sources report that he has gotten a big head since his run as the "Bachelor," and that he's demanding to be shot from certain angles, talking down to crew members, and bragging to other cast members about how "this show needs me."
Sean's dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd, was quick to shoot down the diva rumors. "He is so far from it! It's absolutely absurd. It's ridiculous, laughable. We heard about it and we just burst out laughing because he's not that at all."
Meanwhile, Sean seems to have a sense of humor about it. "I got online and I saw they were calling me 'Princess Sean' ... I'm hoping that nickname doesn't stick. You can't do anything but laugh it off."
